The Loveland, CO Pediatric Dentist that Makes Kids ComfortableChildren often feel scared when they go to the dentist for the first time. They either hear rumors at home and school, or many watch television programs that make them afraid of the dentist, so they feel nervous or even terrified when they finally sit in the dentist’s chair.
We don’t want any of our young patients to feel this way. We want children to like coming to the dentist, so we do everything in our power to make them comfortable. When you need a pediatric dentist in Loveland, CO, you can trust Awesome Pedodontics to make your child feel confident and welcome.
Don’t Be Afraid of the Dentist! Here’s Why:If your children dread the dentist’s office, it may be because they feel they’re not in control of what happens there. Some kids feel bored because they can’t do anything other than sit in the dentist’s chair. Awesome Pedodontics is perfect for all children, even the nervous ones, because of a few key company practices:
1. We explain all of our procedures to our young patients. We tell them exactly what we’ll do and why we do it. Our explanations give children a sense of control, and they also help children understand why dental hygiene is important.
2. We have a relatively small staff, so every dentist and dental hygienist knows our patients on a very personal level. This intimacy is just another reason your children trust us and feel comfortable around our team. Every member of our staff works well with children, a fact that ensures both you and your child will have an excellent experience at Awesome Pedodontics.
3. We have movies and laughing gas for our patients. If children get bored or scared at the dentist, movies often help them relax. However, if movies don’t help them, we also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as a safe treatment that helps frightened patients to relax.
Children reach the “age of reason” at different times in their lives (most between three to four years old), in which they’re learning that sometimes they need to venture outside their comfort zones and do something they ordinarily wouldn’t want to do. We do not have a rigid policy about not having a parent present during treatment. You know your child best. If you feel that your presence is a needed comfort and will facilitate the appointment (especially for first visits or very young children), then we are happy to accommodate this need. If, however, you feel your child will respond better to treatment if you weren’t present—which is often the case—you can trust us to do the best for your child in a positive way and utilize your presence only when necessary.
